About Us

Spectrum Leisure Training has been delivering certificated training courses for leisure facility operators, pool and spa owners at all levels for over ten years, enabling owners and organisations to operate their pools and spas safely and efficiently, and with suitably trained staff.

The principal of Spectrum Leisure Training, Chris Bowler, holds a Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed), is an approved trainer for the Institute of Sport and Recreational Management (ISRM), a Fellow of the ISRM (F. Inst. SRM) and a member of the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (MISPE).

Chris brings a wealth of practical experience to his training programmes. Prior to establishing his successful training career, Chris managed a large, multi-use, public leisure centre.

The ethos of Spectrum Leisure Training is to enable every leisure facility operator to achieve the highest levels and standards of health, hygiene and efficiency in their operations. Every operator has a duty of care to its users as well as a legal obligation to provide a safe and clean environment. With the incidence of litigation  steadily rising, it is important that the knowledge and practices of all operational staff are both comprehensive and current.

As well as operating a range of training courses aimed at swimming pool and pool plant operators, we offer courses for front line, supervisory and management staff within the leisure industry.

Spectrum also offers a growing consultancy business, through which you can gain access to an independent review of your current operations, including risk assessment and safety audits, training needs assessment, best practice recommendations, and the creation of appropriate policies and procedures.

Embracing Spectrum Leisure Training and consultancy programmes will help you:

  • Meet your statutory and legal obligations as a pool or spa operator
  • Help embed best practice and ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources such as chemicals, water and energy
  • Provide optimum bathing conditions to your customers, encouraging repeat visits
  • Enhance the reputation of your organisation by providing quality staff training which is suitable, sufficient and current
